Adding a free Statcounter to your website or Wordpress blog

Date March 16, 2008

In addition to tracking all your advertising using a good tracking service (I use the included system with UMC Hosting), you should also have some kind of tracking system on your website or blog itself. This is a great way to know where your traffic is coming from, which pages people are looking at and also how long your visitors are staying on your pages.

A free service that I’ve used for years is from Statcounter.com. I’m always amazed at the amount of information I can get from looking through my stats and it’s also very rewarding and enjoyable to actually see my visitors and what countries they’re from. I cover even more of the statistics that are reported using Statcounter in the video below.

The code is fairly easy to install on webpages and if you have a Wordpress blog, there’s even a plugin that makes the whole process super easy to implement. If you’d like to use Statcounter but aren’t sure how to set it up, just give me a shout by email or phone and I’ll help out. Enjoy the video and I hope it helps your business in some way. Talk to you soon.
