Who is Greg?
Hello and welcome to my ‘About Me’ page. I’ll start out with some basics and go from there, OK?
I’m 49 years young now and live in Boise, ID. I moved here in October of 2008 after growing up in Washington. I lived mostly in South King County in Auburn, Kent, and Maple Valley. After being married for 15 years and a divorce in 2006, I decided I needed a change of scenery and a new start.
I have two brothers who also live in Boise and after spending the summer of 2007 here, I decided to make the move. The heat here is a bit much for me, but I don’t miss the rainy and gloomy days in Washington. I do miss my family and friends though and try to get back several times a year.
I became internet ‘aware’ in 1996 and started off with a WebTV unit. It sure was fun browsing on my 48″ bigscreen! At the time I was working as a Wonder Bread delivery driver. I had a good job, great marriage and was happy.
Not too long after that I discovered MLM and just knew that was my ticket to financial freedom. The first ever exposure I had was with a company called ‘Nationwide Autoclub’. It was sort of a wholesale car program with an MLM compensation plan. You could purchase vehicles at a big discount by going through the club. As you can imagine, with the advent of the internet, the company didn’t last long. I had a great time while in the business, but moved on shortly after that.
Once I was bitten by the online biz opp bug, I started looking and joining all kinds of programs. Melaleuca, Herbalife, Prepaid Legal, and on and on. I’ve been in probably every big MLM there ever was. I always started out optimistic and excited, but it never lasted as I soon starting feeling the pressure of bugging family and friends. In an effort to find leads and prospects online, I started to learn how to be an ‘internet marketer’.
I taught myself HTML, purchased thousands of dollars worth of software, tried expensive lead programs and while I had some success, nothing ever lasted. This went on for about 10 years until I was completely burned out. I had given up my good job, lost my wife, and really made a mess of things overall. All in the pursuit of my dream of financial freedom.
That taught me some hard lessons. First, don’t give up your security. If you have a job, even if you hate it, don’t give it up until you’re making a comfortable income and have some money put away, preferably a big chunk, say 6 months of your wages. Second, and this should even be first, is never, NEVER put anything before your family. Family comes first and don’t put them in financial jeopardy. Limit you
r hours building your business to allow for plenty of family time.
All the money in the world is worthless if you’re alone and miserable. Trust me, I speak from experience and I would do so many things differently if I could do them over, but you know what they say about hindsight.
I definitely went through a few years of hard times. After my divorce I really quit caring about a lot of things. I sold off almost everything I owned and I was going to hit the road and travel. That sounded like a good idea and kept me going, so I went with it. I soon discovered that to travel, you had to have money and while I liked the ‘idea’ of doing it, in reality, I liked where I lived and being around my family and friends, so I started delivering bread again and settled into a small mobile home in the woods of Maple Valley, WA and started rebuilding my life.
I lived there for 2 years with my sole companion, my cat Charlie, who became my
best friend and kept me sane during many lonely days and months.
On a visit to Boise at Christmas time in 2007, I met a lady who helped me make the transition from lonely single guy to “hey, I guess I will meet someone again!” Though our relationship did not last, it helped me move on with my life and I moved to Boise in October of 2008. I had made good money at the beginning of 2008 and lived comfortably for the better part of 2 years.
In 2009, trading robots or ‘expert advisors’ as they are called became all the rage with promises of fast money by slapping one of these robots onto your forex account and letting it trade automatically. Fapturbo was really the grand daddy of them all and went on to sell over 50,000 copies.
Many people wanted to participate but lacked the technical skills to install the robots, so I created my own business to help with this and over the course of a year and half helped over 130+ clients get their systems installed and trading. That business was called ForexRobotInstall.com and I learned a great deal about the industry and made some great connections.
While this small business helped create some income, it was not residual. Meaning if I wasn’t doing installations, there was no money coming in. Now years later, I realize I NEED network marketing and so do so many other good hard working people out there. In these tough economic times network marketing is still the best opportunity in the world to succeed. You just need the right skills and training to make it happen.
I now use my technical skills and experience that I’ve gained over the last 15 years online to focus on helping people learn how to market their business using the power of technology on the internet. While you can automate much of your business, remember, this is still a ‘people’ business and building relationships in this new land of opportunity is still the key to becoming successful.
Don’t try to go it alone out there. Having a successful, supportive group around you to keep you going and help when you need it is so important while you learn your new skills. The team I work with now are amazing. We use all our strengths combined to build our team and we work closely with each person to make sure they get off to a running start.
